Shannon has worked in public relations and communications for the past eight years, the majority of which were within the government sector.

She has worked for Queensland Health, the Commission for Children and Young People and the Departments of State Development and Innovation, Primary Industries and Fisheries and Natural Resources and Water, as a Communications Advisor and Policy Advisor.

Shannon has also worked in the private sector, where she held key public relations positions in property and a high-end luxury retail organisation.

Her private sector employment was focussed on event management, including large scale conferences and exclusive launch parties.
